DECC Comments on the Feed in Tariffs Decision
A spokesperson for the DECC has commented on the Court of Appeal's decision on the Feed in Tariff, announcing that they have submitted an application with the Supreme Court for permission to appeal. The DECC is adamant that the funding for the Feed in Tariff is spread out for as many people as possible, rather than a scheme for the few, as well as have it support sustainable jobs for solar panel installers and the solar industry as a whole.
Energy Ministers have now submitted their final appeal to reverse the ruling that the Feed in Tariff rate cuts were unlawful, with lawyers acting on behalf of the DECC submitting paperwork two days before the deadline. If the appeal is accepted, it could help support the solar industry, with solar panel installers benefitting from more business in the short- and long term.

- Feed-in Tariff appeal: Application to the Supreme Court
A DECC spokesperson said:
“We respectfully disagree with the Court of Appeal’s decision on Feed-in Tariffs and we have today lodged an application with the Supreme Court seeking that court’s permission to appeal. We are now awaiting a decision of the Supreme Court on permission.
“We want to see the available funding spread as far and wide as possible making FITs a scheme for the many not a scheme for the few, supporting sustainable jobs in solar and in a whole range of small scale renewables.”
